Chances are if everything was working properly and suddenly half of your power is lost you are experiencing a power-line transformer malfunction and the best solution for this would be to call AEP and report the outage.

Will my service request require a permit?

In most minor electric installation, such as receptacle installation - NO, a permit is not required. For any work related to power shut down, building new additions or completely new structures - YES, a permit is required.

How long will I be without power?

Our goal is to minimize shut down times as much as possible. Depending on the extent of the electrical issues, you may be without power between 4-8 hours.
